ISKCON Columbus

This class is for children age 5-8 years of age. Its goals are to teach your child about Krishna Consciousness in a fun, age-appropriate way. We will use Krishna Conscious books, songs and materials to engage the children and to encourage them to build meaningful relationships with their fellow devotees. All this will occur hand-in-hand with learning basic social and behavior skills.

Schedule: The class schedule will coordinate with ISKCON Columbus Sunday program schedule. The Sunday School room will open at 5:00 PM. All children are asked to arrive between 5:00 and 515. At 5:15, the door will be closed and class will begin. We ask that you arrive promptly so your child may participate. At 6:15, the children will return to the temple room to participate in kirtan and Arotik.

Fees: enrollment fee is $10.00 per 2 month session, $6 for the second + child.

Parent Involvement: All parents are welcome to "sit in" on any class and are encouraged to discuss what their child learned that day. If you would like to help as an assistant from time to time, or if you would like to help with fundraising or any other project the class is working on, please contact us.

General Safety Information: Classroom rules will be posted and a copy will be provided to the parents. The children will learn a basic fire safety plan in case of an emergency. The class will be supervised at all times by at least one adult and, if available, a teaching assistant.

Discipline Policy: The teacher will handle each situation on an individual basis. If a child is in danger of causing harm to himself or others, he will be removed from the class immediately and the teacher will have a meeting with his parent/guardian to decide the next course of action.
